Active Listening….the most important communication skill


This half day interactive workshop teaches how to be an effective listener through role-playing, modeling, the understanding of the interferences and roadblocks commonly employed which prevent active listening from being practiced, and skill practice exercises during the session. 

In addition, short videos demonstrating the concepts discussed, can be shown to help the attendees better grasp the ideas being  taught to them.

  • Definition of Active Listening
  • Interferences to Active listening
  • Summarizing and its importance
  • Ownership of the problem
  • Roadblocks to listening
  • Active Listening techniques
  • Summary of Active Listening

This interactive workshop may be presented in combination with any of the other elements of other aspects of communication or other soft skills topics to provide the most appropriate skills set for the participants. Furthermore, specific portions may also be extracted as necessary, again to customize the presentation.

Workshops can be delivered in-house or at a specified location to groups, or as personal coaching sessions to individuals, in the Vancouver, B.C. area.  (Sandy is also willing to travel outside of the lower mainland and BC if necessary.)
